MEDICAL / EMERGENCY ALERT TAGS
Do you or a loved one have a medical condition that requires a piece of electrically powered medical equipment? The MBLP has a program for this situation wherein the meter servicing your home is tagged with a special "medical alert tag" and your account is denoted in a similar manner.
In the case of a planned outage, the MBLP takes extra care to insure that you have been adequately notified of the outage. In the case of an unplanned outage, and depending on the severity of the outage, your account may be given priority restoration. MBLP personnel may also phone you during the outage to inquire on your safety and to apprise you of the length of the outage. This is often helpful information when trying to decide if you should stay in your home or go to an alternate (with power) location.
